about to start the upgrade to Snow Leopard. going with a simple upgrade for now. if problems arise I might do a clean install later.

@meken that update is only working for a specific hardrive brand unfortunately.
Now. Valkyrie was way better then Inglorious Basterds. It stayed true to its promise.
@milesl basically the drive goes to sleep/parking position without a need for it to do so.
@milesl from what I have learned so far it might be a driver issue with the HDD’s motion sensor and the MB motion sensor.

@sintaxasn I never had any banding issues. very rarely I get a bit of noise, but I think that is just my cable not being connected right.
