@kleinjinx I hope that was no sexual reference, because then I think my brain just exploded. :)

@kleinjinx gotta celebrate being still alive somehow,right? :)
@Freitaucher viel Spaß!
@MasterZap hmmm… have to look into the hair primitive. is it possible to convert a bunch of curves into hair primitives in Maya?
@MasterZap yes, think Maya spline curves. Basically, I am used to attach a curve primitive attribute to them in Renderman and they render.
@MasterZap btw. concerning my question from yesterday. is it possible to render curves with MentalRay without writing some custom shader?
@frankjonen see. me on the other hand, I am struggling to get barely decent typography happening. ;)
@frankjonen and of course, those point clouds are a little more then scripting. ;)
@frankjonen maybe you should take the Python for Compositors course at fxphd? not a bad start for that kind of thing.
@Freitaucher tach tach
@frankjonen @mikeseymour IE might have gotten the idea for their in-house tools from our talk at fmx/08 now that I think about it.
@frankjonen I’m really wondering where they got the idea from. we had a toolset like that (the ptclds with relighting) end of 2007 in-house
@cathicks lol. that made my day.
@MasterZap and then there was this 360° shutter and the amount of cheese int eh movie, but you cannot really fault the vfx for those. :)
@MasterZap but with pretty bad I am mostly referring to the space shots. the other things just stood out to me sometimes.
@MasterZap I also though that the water looked weird in some shots. like a rubber surface. & there were the occasional comps with off blacks
@MasterZap but maybe that is just my eyes being trained for space shots. been deep in a space project for months now.
@MasterZap the space shots stood out to me. very obvious Maya Fluid like solar flares & earth in the end looked very turn of the century cg
g’night peeps. I am wasted.
@eksimioni it really is amazing how much great animation can add to a piece, don’t you think? :)
@MasterZap while there were spectacular vfx, they also had some pretty bad ones in there.
@keithlango a little more background and a discussion re the previous link bit.ly/10iRyn
@keithlango I trust you have seen this already? thurly.net//8at
