@frankjonen yes, that is how I understood it as well
@frankjonen during that time, yes. debevec.org/Bio/
@frankjonen it can work. see Point Based Occlusion in Renderman, but to present IBL and HDRI as brand new technology? Debevec did that in 98
@GoToMeeting crystal clear sound all the way through though. better then Skype in 99% of the cases with this connection.
@GoToMeeting sometimes the video was a bit choppy, but very watchable overall. and the connection at my current stay really sucks. :)
@frankjonen the only really annoying part was the revelation of HDRI and IBL, the rest was fine.
@frankjonen but then again, sales was pretty much the main goal of the whole thing I assume.
@frankjonen yes, that was a nice idea. the rest a bit meh. too much sales show, too little meat. at least for someone who knows compositing.
@frankjonen hehe. sneaked in behind you. ;)
@TheRedOwl well, I guess most of the attendees were joining for that single reason.
congrats to all the lucky winners at the webinar. — and of course, curses for not being one of them!!
@frankjonen herzlichen glückwunsch :)
well, having a little issue in your webinar at least assures your audience that it is not a recording ;)
@Chris_Desanto the start screen actually looks very sexy :)
@Chris_Desanto I know, it just makes me cringe to praise these things as new inventions and something magical. overall it’s pretty good imho
OT: “this is part of a new vfx system called ‘image based lighting’” … really? …
ok. just listened to Steve praise the “light probe” as if it were something earth shattering new. this has been old in 2001…
@Chris_Desanto actually, I am kind of enjoying the 3D projection setups. simple, but nice to see how he handles them.
I have to say though, that I am really impressed with GoToMeeting. Even with my pretty bad connection here it is smooth as butter.
@Chris_Desanto @meken yep, so far nothing new. actually, pretty boring. but then again, I didn’t expect anything deep in the 1st place.
