@christopher_p well, Tractor is definitely a bit too much for our couple of machines. and for now Backburner is ok. Nothing fancy.

@meken had good experiences with Rush, Smedge, QMaster, Deadline and Pipeline.

@mattkapp na. unfortunately, it is only temporary. at least in this configuration. we had to rent a few extra machines & those are the farm.

@meken at the moment we are using Afterburn, because it comes with Maya. but I have good experiences with a few farm managers.

renderfarm setup finally done. now I’m happy. :)

@tobyx I got used to it already. hardly any sweat and brain working again. last week was tough though.

@NickLambert whistle not bad. yes, didn’t save much on mine. was an emergency buy. didn’t have time to collect the parts.

@MasterZap with Maya 2011 & its dedicated displacement slot (which is how it’s supposed to work in Maya. there’s no misss_fast_skin_phen_d)

@MasterZap one more for you. any clue why my misss_fast_skin turns pitch black except for the specular component when I use a displacement?
