ah, just spotted that the i7’s are also quad-core instead of dual core like the i5’s that’s settled then.

thinking of getting a mac mini right now as server/renderslave. 2,5GHz i5 or 2GHz i7? any speed comparisons around?

@alexlehnert @mikeseymour yes, most of the actual production now happens in HD.

@mikeseymour though as I said, it is starting to get more HD in preparation for the coming switch.

@mikeseymour if it is for German TV, yes. Pretty much exclusively. At least PAL 16:9 anamorphic instead of plain PAL. ;)

@mikeseymour Germany is still SD. Only a few HD satellite channels so far. Switch supposed to happen next year. Let’s see.
